The SCOTT Spark RC World Cup is the latest in a long line of race winning Scott cross-country bikes we’ve been fortunate to experience at Bikes By Outside Sports. Designed to balance responsiveness and control, Scott says the Spark RC World Cup ‘creates a seamless connection between you and trail.’ So how does it do that?
The 2027 Scott Spark RC is at Bikes By Outside Sports Now.
Scott Spark RC Takes XC Riding to the Next Level
An updated super-lightweight HMF carbon frame enables faster acceleration and gives you exceptional agility in technical terrain - combined with efficiency on climbs and stability on fast descents. The frame is 200 grams lighter than the previous edition of the Scott Spark RC, with full builds starting from just 9.9 kg. Every one of those grams saved will help you cover the ground faster.
RockShox Flight Attendant Equipped
RockShox Flight Attendant is an electronic, wireless suspension system that automatically adjusts the bike’s fork and rear shock between Open, Pedal, and Lock settings in real-time. By analyzing data from sensors in the fork, shock, and crankset, it’s able to optimise your suspension on the fly to maximise your pedaling efficiency. With this adaptive ride system on board your new Spark RC you’ll find your average speed over the ground increases, with perceptibly less effort.
Competition-Ready Drive Train
If you’re thinking about an event like the Hawea Epic you couldn’t find a better bike to do it on than the SCOTT Spark RC World Cup. The SRAM X0 Eagle AXS Transmission drivetrain, Syncros Silverton CF2 wheels, and integrated cable routing enhance speed, accuracy, and control, ensuring the bike is as capable on your local trails as it is on the race course.
Weight Optimised Design and Engineering
There’s handy downtube storage for a tube, pump and tire levers, as well as a small tool with a 6 mm hex for the axle, a T25 Torx for various bolts, and, depending on the model, a 3 mm or 2.5 mm hex for shock adjustments.
There is end-to-end guided cable routing, room for very long-travel seat posts, and adjustable geometry with a head angle that can be as slack as 65.4 degrees.
Frame and Suspension
The previous Scott Spark RC had a vertical shock hidden inside the seat tube, but the new version features the shock horizontal in the downtube, with the link driving it pivoting around the bottom bracket. Because the top tube and seat tube don't need to carry pivot or shock forces, they can be lighter. The other benefit is a straight, uninterrupted seat tube. 150 mm droppers fit all sizes and 200 mm on the larger frames. External bottle mount threads give room for two bottles.
Clever Cable Routing
The Spark RC features thru-headset cable routing. Scott’s Octopus Cable-Routing Technology (OCT) guide cables/hoses from the headset opening, via the shock cover, which can be used for access. The tubes for the shock, derailleur and seat post can be removed to save weight if you want to switch to an electronic version There's a removable steering limiter to protect the frame and cables in a crash.
Super-Slack Geometry
There are 65.4, 65.9, or 66.4-degree head angle options. It also has low stack heights from 591 mm in small and medium up to and 613 mm in XL. The rear-centre is compact at 434 mm in all sizes. The latest Scott Spark RC can accommodate 2.6" tires, up from 2.4."
Flex-Pivot Rear Suspension
The ‘flex-pivot rear triangle is designed to provides a progressive leverage ratio (decreasing leverage, increasing stiffness) through most of the travel. It flexes as little as possible, especially in the first two-thirds of the travel, so there's very little spring effect from the carbon bending. The flex is distributed between both the upper and lower stays in the first two thirds of travel and then in the final portion of travel, the rear triangle starts to bend adding to the resistance to bottoming out.
