Outside Sports Ski Demo Days 2025

This season we’re running two sets of ski Demo Expos in July and August. There’s be dozens of the latest skis from the world’s leading brands all in one place! It’s a unique opportunity to directly compare skis and find the one that’s best for your ability level and skiing style. Outside Sports is the only retailer to hold monster combined brand ski demo expos like this and we’d love you to join us. And of course all demos are free - just bring your photo ID.

The Remarkables- Wednesday 23 July and Wednesday 20 August 

Coronet Peak- Thursday 24 July and Thursday 21 August 

Cardrona- Friday 25 July and Friday 22 August 

Our demo centres are conveniently located at the base of the main lift at each ski field so you can take a lap then swap your demo skis for another pair. You can't miss us - just look for the forest of ski flags and happy people.

The Remarkables – right out in front of the base building at the base station for the Curvey Basin chair. 

Coronet Peak – just to the left of the base building by the line for the Coronet Express chair. 

Cardrona – in front of the clock tower and to the right of the base station of McDougall’s Chondola. 

We have $50 Outside Sports vouchers up for grabs just for completing a short survey. We want to know what your favourite skis are and why - so we can make sure our range matches your preferences. To enter scan the QR code on the survey flyers you'll see displayed at the demo site. You can do the survey on your phone, and it'll only take a couple of minutes.

Outside Sports Ski Demo Days have the biggest collection of skis to demo all in one place that you'll see anywhere in New Zealand. We have everything from on-trail cruisers to super-sendy freeride pow skis and everything in between. We’ll also have a big selection of SMITH goggles and glasses for you to try as well – it's amazing what clear vision can do for your skiing. 

Everyone loves the unisex Atomic Bent freeride/freestyle range. Try the versatile Bent 85 for park and piste, the Bent 100 for all-mountain soft snow fun, and the Bent 110 for pow day glory. The Maven and Maverick are exceptional All-Mountain skis in widths from 86mm underfoot to 115mm. All Atomic skis are made in Austria in the world’s most advanced ski factory. 

Made in the French Alps at Chamonix, Dynastar skis are famous for their quality and beautifully smoothskiing characteristics – making them the most successful brand year after year on the World Freeride Tour, and a great choice for local conditions. 

Faction is a very cool freeride and freestyle brand from Verbier in Switzerland. The choice of skiing super star Eileen Gu, Faction makes stiff, powerful skis that people with strong intermediate to amazing skillslove. And just look at them - the graphics are incredible and look fantastic on the snow. 

Fischer is technology driven high-end German ski brand with its roots in Alpine racing. If you like your skis precise, stable, and fast make sure to give Fischer a try. Fischer Rangers are excellent All-Mountain and Freeride skis, and the Fischer Curv piste range has exceptional skis for everyone from racers and instructors to intermediates who want to develop exquisite technique. 

Head of Austria has just about made the World Cup racing circuit its own over the past several decades. The big news from Head this year is the additional of a metal layer in the brilliant Head Kore freeride range – which we think will make them even better on the variable snow we get so much of in New Zealand. 

Few brands enjoy loyalty like Rossignol’s. There are countless skiers who’ve skied on Rossi’s their whole lives and wouldn’t consider anything else. This year the Rossignol range at our demo day is packed with skis you’ll love - from the aptly named Senders to the versatile Arcade and the sophisticated Experience – one of the most popular skis of all time, freshly updated for 2025. 

SMITH is the first choice of people who work in the mountains. Just about every ski patroller you see wears SMITH googles and helmet – and for good reason. When it’s your livelihood on the line, you want the best. Our demo days are the perfect opportunity for you to take a run or two in SMITH goggles and snow glasses and see what all the buzz is about!
