Sidas started in France in 1975 after founder Loic David took a holiday to Hawaii and noticed footprints in the sand on the beach. That inspired his breakthrough idea – a custom footbed that your foot imprints with its own unique shape. Since then, Sidas has pretty much written the book on customised footbeds for ski boots and running shoes. The new FEETBOX® EVO is the culmination of 50 years research and development.  

The system is almost entirely automated – all you need to do is pull on a pair of the special Sidas socks that come with the FEETBOX® EVO and step onto the footpad– the machine and your Sidas trained Outside Sports technician do the rest. The Sidas FEETBOX® EVO creates a digitalization of the morphology of your feet. The output of the scan is a precise measurement and analysis of your feet. It records measurements for three key data points: your foot volume, foot pressure and leg alignment.

The FEETBOX® EVO can then make recommendations for the ski boots, socks, insoles, and shoes that will be the best suited to you. With the Sidas FEETBOX® EVO there's no more guesswork!

When your analysis is complete you can do a virtual 'try on' of average, narrow, medium and wide fitting ski boots. If you would like to try one boot in particular – maybe it’s a new model from your favourite brand or you’ve read the Blister Reviews on a new boot, you can verify your choice using the SHOO-IQ function, which has a database of every boot we have in stock at Outside Sports. 

While all this amazing technology and your technician are doing their thing, you can follow along on the screen. You’ll be able to visualise your foot fitted with a sock and an insole, inside a ski boot or shoe. It’s incredible and Outside Sports Queenstown and Wanaka is the only place in New Zealand you can do that!
